(2017)
A novel by

When local police remain indifferent to the death of Paul Maillot's step-brother, the conservative young solicitor has to search for a motive among the student fraternity of Paris.
As Paul gets more involved, he is confronted with lifestyles and 'attitude' that he finds alien and corrupt. In the moody downbeat bars of the wintertime city, his investigations become baffling and often eccentric. For instance: Late one night whilst waiting for an acquaintance of his dead step-brother, he discovers purely by chance that, the theme of the affair runs counterpart to a genre film western of thirty years previous.
The story ends with an affair and a conflict that couldn't be further from Maillot's own innocent and predictable lifestyle.
