(2026)
(A book in the Bass Reeves series)
A Story by

Nigel Farraday, a London police detective, shows up in Muscogee, in pursuit of an English outlaw that has fled England for America, and is reported to have made his way west to Indian Territory. Bass Reeves and his friend Henry Lone Tree are assigned to assist Farraday in finding and apprehending the fugitive. During the hunt, they encounter two men with a damaged enclosed wagon. The men flee, and Bass and his friends soon discover why. Two women are being held captive in the wagon. The men were taking them to the hideout of Al Langston and his gang who have several other women prisoners who they’re planning to take to the Dakotas for sale to illicit brothels that service the remote mines.

The task now becomes complicated when they learn that the English fugitive has joined the gang, but neither complicated nor dangerous ever keeps Bass from fulfilling his duties.
