Spearman's Grass

John Wells had given up sheriffing to be a troubleshooter for his commanding officer of yesteryear, General Amos Spearman. He hadn't been on Spearman's grass for an hour when he saw the evidence of a most bitter conflict. But did the farmers have the right to the grass that the cowmen had fought and bled for? Wells found his answer when an old man shot a young and unfaithful wife, and he was able to pluck a child out of the air just one yard short of oblivion.
