Blood is thicker than water...

After receiving a letter informing him of his brother's murder, Jim Marden heads to Kansas under the alias of Greg Hallam to avenge his death.

He's receives the letter from Jane Ordway, the daughter of Tack - the honest man who worked alongside Art.

As soon as he enters Jackson Country on his search for his brother's killer, Hallam is faced with trouble headon.

His brother Art had worked a riding job at Tack's ranch the Diamond O.

Ordway's ranch was in hot competition with Van Beider's XBX ranch and trouble had been flaring up between the two rivals for a while.

With both blaming each other for misdeeds and wrong doings, Hallam finds himself catapulted into the middle of the dispute and having to pick sides.

Rumours lead everyone to believe that it was one of Beider's gunnies who murdered Art, so Hallam naturally finds himself aligning himself to Tack and his ranchers.

However, never to take anything at face value, Hallam sticks around to try and find out the truth about Art's murder and the real reason why someone wanted him gone.

The target of bullets, ambushes and violent attacks, Hallam must keep his wits about him as he starts to ruffle a lot of people's feathers in his quest to uncover the truth.

But has he chosen the right side?

Will he ever find out the truth?

Or will hard men living in even harder conditions get the better of him?
