‘It took me back to my youth. I was born in 1950. My family moved around a lot, so I never had close friends like that. But those were good times. I fondly remember my youth and wish life was still that simple.’ An Amazon Reader

You’ve seen them, maybe even know them, those guys sitting together in the back of the diner early on Wednesday mornings. Larry, Craig, Mike, Garry, and Tommy have known and supported each other for more than half a century.

They call themselves the Marigold Gang.

They grew up on Marigold Court in the 1950s and have remained loyal friends. They named themselves The Marigold Gang because it sounded tough for a group of twelve-year-olds. They have supported each other through high school, college, marriages, families, grandchildren, and even death.

And now they investigate cold case crimes in a small Illinois village on Highway 30, the Lincoln Highway, not far from Chicago.

On a June day, at the bottom of a lake drained for a new development, a red 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is discovered. Bodies are found inside, and they turn out to be the gruesome remains of a rock and roll band that vanished over fifty years ago. The police in the small town of Lincolnville call in the Marigold Gang to assist with the investigation of this cold case. Can they uncover what happened to this band that was on the brink of international fame? Can they uncover the truth behind the lies?

This is a story about classic cars, gangsters, and rock and roll.
The Mystery of the Missing Monte Carlo'''takes you back to a forgotten past filled with memories, sweethearts, and hopes for the future.
