I’d made peace with my past, then I saw her again…the one who got away.

Life is not all sunshine and glitter. For me it was struggle and heartbreak. Some of it I did to myself, though it was reactionary. I’d hurt the sole family member I cared about, my twin, and lost the woman I knew was my soulmate on top of that. My sister forgave me. I didn’t dare hope Lilith would, too.

Is it considered a second chance if you never gave up on your first and only love?

Raymond was my best friend, the other half of me. Then a twist of fate changed him, and it broke me. Us. I could’ve moved on, but I didn’t want to. He’s mine and I am his, just as we promised years ago. Now our paths have crossed again and he’s seeking redemption, even though he doesn’t believe he deserves it.

Does forever still count if you aren’t enjoying it together?
