Yule Cat is a huge black cat that terrorises Iceland every winter. He lives in a rancid cave with the troll woman Gryla, her lazy husband, and her brood of thirteen sons--the mischievous and often destructive Yule Lads. One day, however, the cat, Turinn, makes his way onto a farm and realises he can get all sorts of delectable treats from the humans for free--he will never have to hunt for ungrateful Gryla and her obnoxious family again. But the troll woman demands his return and sends the Yule Lads to bring him back to her cave--by force if necessary.
