The Republic was at peace…
…until a star system was lost.
And then the Tully were invaded.

The Zodark Empire had been defeated, and war with the Collective had been halted—at least temporarily. After years of sacrifice, the Republic could finally rebuild its shattered worlds and enjoy its hard-won peace. Above Earth, construction of the massive ring station advanced, offering a promise of prosperity to people who had known little beyond war.

Then an unknown enemy invaded Tully territory, seizing a star system and occupying its colony worlds. The Tully had stood with the Republic through its darkest hours, supplying the resources that kept its fleets fighting. Now millions of their citizens lived under enemy occupation, and Viceroy Miles Hunt needed to send help.

The Republic remembered who stood beside it.
But what would it cost to return the favor?

As the fleet prepared to deploy, the Republic faced unfinished business within its own borders. Integrating the Sumerian and Gurista peoples had brought new opportunities''and exposed old enemies. The Interstellar Marshal Service discovered that remnants of the Groff, the Zodark intelligence agency, remained active despite the terms of surrender. Together with Republic Intelligence, the Marshals had to uncover their purpose and dismantle the network before they could unravel the peace.

Meanwhile, a discovery at Lab Site X sent scientists and archaeologists back to Alpha Centauri, where the Republic first uncovered evidence of the Humtars. Armed with knowledge they lacked on their first visit, they returned to a site that might still hold its greatest secrets.

What did humanity overlook the first time?
