All Maren Holt wanted after her divorce was a farmhouse and one Thanksgiving where nobody expected her to make the pies.
Hollowridge Farm came with a collapsing barn, an abandoned well that's only abandoned in the legal sense, and a seven-foot sentient scarecrow attached to the deed.
Harrow has spent centuries classified as agricultural equipment. He protects the land, obeys its keeper, repairs what breaks, and endures whatever the Bellwether Harvest Trust demands of him every Thanksgiving.
Then Maren repairs his damaged heart-knot with ordinary red thread and asks him a question no keeper ever has.
What do you want?
The answer becomes increasingly complicated.
With Thanksgiving approaching, Maren discovers that Bellwether's miraculous harvests have always carried a price, and Harrow has been paying for generations. Breaking the covenant could finally set him free, but it could also unravel the magic keeping the valley prosperous.
Harrow is beginning to discover that freedom includes choosing what he wants, whom he protects, and exactly how interested he is in the woman who stitched his heart back together.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
