Nickolai is the last true elf left in the world, rescued from the fate of his people by Comet, a flying reindeer. This is the thrilling story of the boy behind the legend of Santa Claus, how a refugee elfin boy, fleeing the destruction of his kingdom, joined a mass migration and eventually created the tradition of Father Christmas. It all started when one Midwinter's Eve, many centuries ago, a miracle happened at the North Pole. The Northern Lights poured into the caverns under the ice and brought the rocks alive. The Elfin Kingdom was born.
Many years later, Magda, an elfin sorceress, returns from exile in the Vortex and destroys all the elves - except one. Nickolai, the last true elf, is saved by Comet, Queen of the magical flying reindeer.
Brought up by human parents in a tiny Arctic town, Nickolai knows he's different. Teased and bullied because of his pointed ears, he seeks solace with the reindeer in the enchanted forest.
When he finds out he is adopted he travels North in search of his people and his true identity. He finds a glittering Golden City, ruled over by a beautiful Queen called Magda. But all is not what it seems, and when he realises what she is doing to the city's children,he embarks on his heroic mission to save the world from her evil - and in the process finds his true destiny.
A magical adventure for readers from 8 - 80 this can be read any time of year!
