Lisa’s in the dog house with the Nightshade Guild. To be fair, most of them are, and trials have been set for the Guild members, chosen by destiny, to prove once and for all they are worthy to protect the magical world.
After a number of failures, Lisa is sent to the Ogre realm. Not to fight, or to kill a dangerous beast. No, she is there as an ambassador. To bring the ogres into the fold, and maybe, save their king from a strange illness.
Her trial is in diplomacy and patience. Her rash judgement and choice of garb have given the impression she is unwilling to take all of her duties seriously, and not everything must end in bloodshed. Even for the Guild.
Her familiar Angus, and fiancé, Jason, were forbidden from coming with her, but it’s her trial, not theirs, and there was no way Jason and Angus would be left behind. Especially if they promise to stay out of the way…
