When children’s librarian Evelyn ‘Evie’ Morgen witnesses a murder while at work, and against all odds, escapes from the killer, she’s thrust into a decades long embattlement between the FBI and the Murphy crime family. She finds herself dropped on the doorstep of ex-FBI agent turned lumberjack Nick Barber.

Nick is unprepared to suddenly become a bodyguard, but at the request of an old friend, he agrees to temporarily watch over Evie at his remote cabin in Washington. As Evie’s isolation turns from days to weeks, the small town begins to embrace her, allowing Evie to grow closer to new friends while her feelings develop for her soft-hearted protector.

Bodies pile up, new friends are caught in the crossfire, and reality threatens the safety she once felt with Nick. Evie must take her final stand against the murderer who sent her running, or risk losing the man she might love.

THE FELLING CUT is a standalone romantic suspense novel and the first in a series of interconnected contemporary romances.
