I can Reload. Redo every day, or even just a few moments, until they’re perfect.
That’s my edge. Still the only reason I’m not dead already.
But the closer I get to June 5th, the day Fortress ENE is destroyed by several concurrent portal breaches, the more it feels like the world is pushing back. Breaches don’t wait politely for me to be ready. Corporations don’t like loose ends. And when you start showing up in the right place too often, people notice.
Nine months was supposed to be a simple countdown. Find the traitor. Find the corporation that benefits. Stop the Breaches.
Instead, I’m constantly leaving Fortress ENE, chasing problems that spread past the walls, and learning the hard way that the apocalypse has layers. Some of them wear suits. Some of them carry guns. Some of them, the best of them, are just monsters I can plug full of holes.
And then there’s the girls.
Fran, the corpo princess with a perfect mask, who keeps slipping into my loops like she belongs there. I should be using her. She is using me.
Becky, who keeps ending up in the wrong place at the right time, and somehow never seems surprised to see me.
And maybe Plain Jane, who is anything but.
What do I have?
A shitty apartment, a cat that judges me, and a power that lets me redo a day until it’s flawless.
I can do this.
I just have to survive long enough to figure out what ‘winning’ is supposed to cost.
Genre: HaremLit
