They burned his clan to ash. They should have made certain of the boy.
Ned Kan was born the heir of the Blood Clan, and orphaned the night the Flame Clan came to erase it. His parents murdered, his name turned to a curse, he is left with nothing but a buried bloodline and a single, patient purpose: live long enough to make the killers pay.
But Ned is no ordinary survivor. He can wield every element at an intensity the world calls impossible, and coiled in his blood sleeps a sixth, forbidden power the Church of Light has hunted for a hundred thousand years. Guided by the spirit of an ancient soul, he does the one thing no one would expect.
He walks into the academy of his enemies and asks to be taught.
Hidden behind the mask of a penniless scholarship student, Ned climbs the ranks of the Flame Mage School level by level, through duels, trials, and dimensions where years pass in days, gathering the strength to bury everyone who wronged him. But the higher he rises, the clearer it becomes that his enemies were never simply enemies. Powerful hands are lifting him on purpose. A prophecy is turning. And every master who raises him up means to use him before the end.
To take the revenge he was born for, Ned must climb past every hand that moves him, and become the last of a line the world swore it had buried.
The last Paragon.
The Last Paragon is the first book in a sweeping cultivation-progression epic of revenge, hidden bloodlines, and an orphan's rise from nothing to legend.
Perfect for fans of Cradle, Iron Prince, and He Who Fights with Monsters.
