Sin spent her usual Friday nigh with her best friend, Lucas. There was nothing out of the ordinary about sitting on the beach and having fun, that is, until she woke the next morning.
Lucas' dad was tearing through her house, and she had to run for her life! What did he want? Why was he going crazy? And how the hell did he run so fast? Sin had to get answers, and she found them in the most unlikely place. Her own phone.

EXCERPT:Eight minutes. The video that I didn't even remember freaking taking had changed everything. All I knew, all the people I loved, and all the things I enjoyed.... were gone.

I've wondered a million times if things would have remained the same in my world if I had just deleted the damn video and never watched it. But I always end up giving myself the same answer, and I know it wouldn't have mattered. The truth was told and it can't be undone.

In the video, I seemed to agree that he was going to be happy, but I heard myself ask questions. They were the same questions that I had while watching so it wasn't a shock that drunk me blurted them from my lips.

“What does your magic lineage do? And what are you drinking?” I could barely make out my own words, but I caught on well enough. Lucas' slurs were better understood and I brought the phone closer to my face when he answered.

“I get to choose, Sin. It's like being naked and figuring out what you're going to wear. It's up to me, but of course the family has demanded that I choose their path.” He still didn't answer, but the video still had three minutes left. I watched myself ask again. He answered. Holy shit, I wasn't ready. “We have the blood of powerful witches. We decide. If I drink human blood.. I'll be a vampire. If I...,”

“What?!” I watched the same face on myself as I probably had right then. Did he say vampire?

This story is for adults. Sex is more than implied in later books, and the action scenes are a bit violent (without the excessive gore).
