THREE FINGER CREEK

It was the Army's idea. Choose two slightly flawed soldiers and entrust them with the task of delivering a large sum of money to an important destination. It was a good notion but it didn't allow for a young lady being conveniently in distress.

When Sergeants Micah Truelove and Cornelius O'Hare woke up in the baggage car of a train heading west, without either their clothes or the twenty-five thousand, it was plain that two already shaky careers had just suffered a major setback.

Trouble was, nobody believed them. On top of that, they had the slight problem of the bounty-hunter, not to mention a saloon keeper by the name of Bawdy Jake whose five hundred dollars they had acquired by dubious means. Then there was the matter of the horses they needed but couldn't pay for. And that business about locking up the sheriff of Twin Rivers Bend didn't help, either. Neither did the Yamparika Comanches. . . .
