Never knew that bartering with the Bone Reader for help would cost her, but she never imagined this. He’s enlisted her help in hunting down a killer hidden within a group of evil supernatural beings. She soon realizes everyone might not be as villainous as they first appear.
Part of this bargain includes Never accepting a power she never wanted, and shutting out the friends she’s just learned to let in. She’s forced to team up with not only the Bone Reader, but a couple of shady Founder vampires. At least she’s snuck along her dragon mate and a couple of not-so human sidekicks.
Her temporary home is full of questionable characters, and they all make excellent suspects. As her investigation leads her closer and closer to the killer, she’s forced to confront several unpleasant possibilities. If she can’t do this alone, can she at least keep those she loves safe? The Bone Reader’s deal was expensive enough, but will catching a murderer cost her life?
