The higher you climb, the harder you fall—especially when strong arms and a brooding stare make you forget why you ever came up.

When my boss assigned me to inspect the Fox Ridge fire lookout tower, she failed to mention one crucial detail. The tower has its own gorgeous, growly guardian: ex-military George Humphrey.

Six-foot-something of pure mountain man stubbornness, with pine-green eyes that see too much and a beard that can't hide how handsome he is when he forgets to scowl. He lives alone in his tower, watching for fires while fighting the ones inside himself.

Then a column of smoke appears on the horizon. A windstorm hits, blocking the trail down. Suddenly I'm trapped with a brooding mountain man who watches forests for fires but can't see what's igniting between us.

I came to this mountain to inspect a tower. Instead, I found a connection I never expected. The question is: am I brave enough to climb his walls and show him the view from the other side?

Mountain Man's Flame is a short, sweet, and steamy small town instalove romance with a happy-ever-after. It can be read as a standalone or together with the rest of the books in the Fox Ridge: Mountain Men series.
