Jack Dahlish is back in San Antonio after his time spent in India learning how to better use the power within the coin he wears. He's looking forward to some time to settle back into his life, as well as the opportunity to explore the inheritance he learned about in Hyderabad.
But it doesn't take long before he's back in the game. The granddaughter of an influential politician has gone missing, and the detective working the case approaches Jack for his help. Jack thinks it is little more than a standard teenage runaway at first, but then he starts to find clues that only his eyes can see. Suspicions begin to grow that something supernatural is involved, especially when another teenager goes missing shortly after he begins to poke around.
With the help of some new friends and old, Jack races to track down the teenagers before the fragile peace between Nox and humans can be destroyed.
