Shockwaves

(2022)
A novel by

My boss caught me doing it at work, but she didn’t fire me.

It was obvious what I was doing. My breath was heavy, my cheeks were pink, and I had that glassy look in my eyes.

There’s no way I could have hidden it, so I didn’t even try. Embarrassed as I was, I just apologized and promised not to do it again.

Except, I did do it again. And again. And again.

I couldn’t stop myself and I couldn’t figure out why.

Was it Dave, that arrogant leering hunk of a CEO that got me so riled up all the time?

Was it Bonnie, that strict, buxom boss of mine that got my pulse continuously racing?

Was there something in the electromagnetic field surrounding that place?

I did get disciplined for my out-of-control behavior. That was humiliating to say the least.

I also did get fired eventually.

So imagine my surprise when Bonnie looked me up just a few weeks later to invite me to join her futuristic new venture.

“A multi-billion dollar vision for the future where men are made obsolete by technology,” is how she put it.

The catch? I was contractually obligated to give her complete control over me.

Every part of me.
