The Nameless City is a hard place to make a home. But in the past few years, Preston Tauschen and April Ersten have cautiously put down roots at the Unknown Kadath Estates, apparently free from the shadows of their past. April is a star pupil at the local Randolph Carter Academy, while Preston works odd jobs for their mysterious and morally ambiguous landlady, Holly Diem.

Now a series of brutal attacks targeting students at the Carter Academy threatens the tenuous home Preston and April have built on Leng Street - particularly when one of the residents of the Estates is victimized and left for dead.

Under suspicion himself, Preston is forced to join new tenant Yael Kaufman (The Night Market) and her cat Dunwich in launching an investigation to discover the assailant and clear his name, before April and Yael join the list of victims. Along the way, they will have to contend with cat royalty, witches, ghouls, monsters, lawyers, and each other. Each lead they follow takes them on a torturous route through the cursed boroughs of the Nameless City, always ending at the same destination - the door of the neighborhood witch, Holly Diem.

The second volume in the Unknown Kadath Estates Trilogy, The Mysteries of Holly Diem features illustrations by Xi Lu.
