He’d be happy if he never saw her again.
She wants nothing to do with him.

When Ben Harlow discovers the guys at the Lovesbury Fire Department have submitted his name for the Valentine’s Day Auction, he’s more than just a little perturbed. Even if the money raised is for a good cause, they should’ve cleared it with him first.

With his truck is out of commission—thanks to the crazy woman who rearended him a couple days ago—the last thing he needs to be bothered with is entertaining someone for a weekend. He’ll do it this one time, but the guys better never pull a stunt like this again.

Maggie Chason hasn’t had the best of luck since she moved back to Lovesbury to help her father with his crazy busy collision center. First, she locks her keys in the car. Then she skids on a patch of ice, right into the backend of someone. It’s not like she did it on purpose but the guy was an absolute jerk about it.

Harley Chason hates seeing his daughter so down in the dumps lately. Bidding on a bachelor for an upcoming fundraiser seems harmless and if it’ll put a smile back on his daughter’s face, it’s a small price to pay to see her happy again.

When Ben finds out the winning bidder is the same woman who did a number on his truck, he’s mortified. Why? Why would she do such a thing? There’s no way he can even pretend to like her. Not even for a dinner date. Maggie isn’t thrilled about it either, but she’s at least she’s willing to try. For the sake of the fundraiser and her father, one date can’t hurt, can it?

Sparks + Hearts does not = a successful time together.
Or does it?
