After the shooting has finally stopped between the Earth Exodus Fleet and the newly discovered alien species known as the Buha-gu, Xero is left to handle delicate peace talks while still heavily injured from a second assassination attempt. The thread of war and peace between two very different and unique species is fragile, and fighting could kick off again at any time. As part of a potential peace settlement, Xero must sacrifice some of her precious resources, putting her in an even tighter spot politically. The Buha-gu hesitantly agree to show the Exodus Fleet two uninhabited systems that can sustain human life. The price of this peace and help might cost Xero everything, and her adversaries are capitalizing. Even if they can set down on a planet, Xero knows the true threat to the Exodus Colony will be just beginning. They will then have to learn if the world itself will kill them simply for being alien to it.
