Princess Ino of Roselia, daughter of Cadmus, Eternal King, is going through a normal day inspecting the fields with her father for food production when she notices something no one else seems to see – that citizens of Roselia are vanishing in broad daylight, disappearing into a darkness of magic she has never before witnessed or thought possible.
Before she can reach the root of this mystery, her father declares she is to marry a royal second cousin who has shown great favor in the king's eyes. Ino cannot stomach the thought of a man touching her as she touches women, and she refuses the union.
Her father leads her to the wilderness, gives her one choice, one opportunity, but Ino refuses him, and she discovers the root of the blood magic disappearing critics of the king – that her father himself is the traitor to Roselia. Before she can defend herself, she is transported to a cold, dark realm filled with lycaon's spawn and many other monstrosities.
