I’m walking into a dragon’s lair.
He’s the biggest, mightiest and most horrific dragon on pre-historic planet Xren. He can burn me to a crisp or rip me to shreds with his butcher-knife claws.
My knees threaten to buckle with each step, and I’m inwardly screaming at myself to get the hell away and run.
But someone has to do it. And this is not the first time I meet this dragon. I’ll try to talk sense into him before he murders us all.
I have a weapon, though. If he makes one false move, I’ll absolutely shoot him and we’ll both die.
