Steampunk Electroblaster Romance

"I was dashing in my pith helmet and goggles, Evangelina fetching in a velvet fez trimmed with feathers. But we didn't stay for the newspaper sketch artists and the photographers up from St. Louis with their tripods and flash powder, even though we would have looked appropriately heroic in half-tone. To be a proper fighter on the side of justice one must dress the role but not exploit it."

America in the late Victorian era. The fiend and failed presidential candidate Myron Lockmor has declared war on mankind. Among his targets: the Gutenberg Bible, Stonehenge, the Mona Lisa, Mark Twain, and President Grover Cleveland. Enter Woodrow Jeter D'Urberville and his stunning one-eyed companion Angelina Jekyll. Inspired by the poetry of Rudyard Kipling, the two heroes and their mentor and genius, the dirigible-residing Professor Emory, set out to save the world, starting with the rescue of Oscar Wilde from Reading Gaol. Every Steampunk weapon, mode of transportation, piece of clothing, and cliche is utilized in this finely-tuned send-up of the genre. Illustrated by the author.
