Doctor on Trial

(1961)
A novel by

She shut her eyes and thought of Brian Burke, of the strength of his lithe, straight body, of his sophistication and the ease with which he dealt with people. He was very worldly and older than most of the men she knew. In the back of her mind, intruding upon the calm of her other dream, was Storm Linders, the new doctor in town. Storm Linders, whose little-boy charm, combined with the seriousness of a dedicated doctor, made him dangerously irresistible. She sat in the winged chair, a slender, pretty girl in a tan shirt. jodhpurs and boots, and wondered: Whom do I love most? She had to choose one soon, or else she would lose them both.
