The author is a senior surgeon who has held apppointments in plastic surgery in this country, America, Europe and Australia. The cases which he describes in this book are taken at random from his daily work. Each one of his patients has his or her own reason for asking the help of the transforming knife. Some because of the necessity of finding work, others because of a feeling of inferiority before their fellow men and yet others because of personal family tragedies which threatened to destroy theor lives. One thing, however, they all have in common: the desire to improve their looks and to get rid of some bodily defect.
