Christmas with the Firefighter
(2026)(A book in the Christmas in Willowbrook Ridge series)
A Story by Julia Stone
She's baking cookies in his kitchen. He's imagining her in his bed.
Willah:
My Christmas baking plans go up in smokeliterally.
One second, I'm pulling a tray of cookies from the oven. The next, they're on fire, and I'm throwing them into the snow while my ridiculously handsome neighbor watches.
Edward is a quiet firefighter who keeps to himself, so I definitely don't expect him to come to my rescue. When he offers to check my oven and tells me it's beyond saving, he offers me something even better.
His kitchen.
Now I'm baking Christmas treats in my neighbor's cabin, surrounded by the smell of sugar and cinnamon while he watches me like I'm the only thing on his mind.
I should probably keep things professional.
Instead, I'm starting to wonder what other things Edward might let me do in his kitchen.
Edward:
I'm quiet. I like my privacy. I like my routine.
But when my cute, sunshine of a neighbor’s oven gets burnt up, all that goes out the window. Without realizing it, I give her a ticket into my life.
I don't expect her to fill my house with Christmas music, the scent of warm cookies, and enough temptation to make a quiet man like me forget every rule I've ever made for myself.
Every day, I want her a little more. And with Christmas getting closer, I'm running out of reasons not to give in.
I don't want my quiet life back. I want Willah.
And if Christmas is about wishes coming true, I'm going to make sure she's mine before the holiday is over.
