Amateur sleuth Brigid Donovan, is enlisted by a young woman named Julie, to look into threats against her life. When a Buddhist guru is murdered, events quickly escalate. Julie is kidnapped and held for ransom as Brigid sets out to investigate, the scattered clues lead her on a twisted trail from her home in rural Maine to the craggy coast of Nova Scotia.
