Alan is deposited in a grassy field with all signs of humanity replaced. A few hundred of his peers are placed in the lush jungle of the past. Each of them are given a spear, a few tools, and a mission: to integrate and survive. Modern humans are soft and prehistoric Earth is brutal, leading to all sorts of problems for Tribe Grant. Together they might just stand a chance by integrating with their environment.
While the odds are stacked against him, Alan finds an old fling, a gorgeous young woman who he can't figure out how he knows, and a damsel or three eager to cling to him for safety.
