Excerpt
He didn't see the second one until the iron bar he was carrying came down hard on his shoulder. He screamed and instinctively lashed out with his other arm. The man grunted as Ben's fist made contact with his face.
The one in the doorway hesitated and half turned back. Ben had no time to consider him because he was suddenly held in a bear hug from behind. Where his instincts were coming from he had no idea, but he jerked his head backwards and felt bone break in the man's nose. The man's arms loosened around him and Ben spun round. He hit the man hard in the stomach and followed it with an uppercut to the jaw.
Any feeling Ben had of winning was curtailed by Rebecca's scream. The other man had come back into the room. Ben had no time to turn. He was hit twice in the kidneys and kicked hard on the back of the knee. He went down on his other knee and waited for a further attack.
