Spike escaped from a cartel and climbed out of a tunnel in New Mexico. The cartel members want what he took, and they want him dead. They aren’t the only people, either. Being on the run doesn’t curb Spike’s need to kill or chase adventure.
Anyone who knows him would say Spike is a nice guy – smart, charming, and always willing to help others. He’s a successful businessman, good-looking, in shape, and always ready with a compliment.
But he has a compulsion to kill. As a self-aware psychopath, he has found God intellectually. This has pushed him into trying to please God and cover his bases for the afterlife. Spike plans to avoid killing innocents. There are plenty of bad people who deserve to die.
Stumbling into a black ops mission, he is overwhelmed with the excitement of sanctioned killing and the risk of dying. He wants more of that.
Spike is a complex character who drives toward his goal on a twisty, action-filled journey. The story is filled with interesting and colorful characters, culminating in an unexpected but satisfying ending.

Spike is a psychopathic killer. Although I feel the book is written tastefully, with a minimum of gore, many people die violently. The f-word will be used, too, but nothing worse.
