A letter from the grave...
When Roman Brandt stumbles across the existence of his best friend's daughter, all he can do is protect her from the dark secrets of Londo City and keep her at arm's length - far away from his long-suppressed hunger. Veronique thinks he's a real man. A good man. If she only knew...

A rebellious beauty...
Talented, independent Veronique is determined to win a place in the new Citizen Symphony. Her musical skill could vault her out of poverty and inspire her fellow citizens. This is her big chance, and no one is going to keep her from her goal - especially the mysterious stranger who snatches her off the streets and thinks he can tell her what to do.

A promise turning to passion...
Once the Overseers hear Veronique play, they will know who she is and take her away forever. Roman can't let that happen. Not only for Veronique's sake, but for the sake of his awakening heart.

PLEASE NOTE: This book was previously published as Gabriel's Daughter, but has been slightly revised to provide an HEA for some of the characters. When Gabriel's Daughter was written, the author had no idea she was birthing a new series, so she was a bit cavalier with the backstory of the main character, Veronique. That part of Veronique's life has been rewritten. Other than backstory and revelation of the truth about her past, the book does not differ substantially from the first publication as Gabriel's Daughter.
