I didn’t mean to do it, but I did, and now that I have… I have a problem. A gorgeous problem with a broken horn, wings, a tail, and the unwavering belief that I belong to him…

When I moved to the small, secretive town of Shadowvale, I decided to stay for one reason and one reason only: the gothic design of the apartment building I found, complete with a gargoyle perched on the roof that overlooks the street. Something about the building drew me in and, welp, there was an open apartment. It seemed like fate—and I had no idea how right I was to think that until the incident.

All tenants are allowed on the rooftop. I hang out there more than most, and I was the first one to notice the crack in the statue’s horn. All I wanted to do was get a better look, see if a little super glue could help, but I accidentally broke it. To make matters worse, I cut my hand on the jagged stone, and instead of getting an infection, I got a blood-bonded gargoyle husband.

His name is Slate, and he was cursed to be a gargoyle more than two hundred years ago. He’s not stone anymore, but he’s definitely a monster—and thanks to our bond, he’s also my problem.

Now I have to keep the authorities from figuring out he exists, hide him from my neighbors and friends, and stop myself from falling for the protective, possessive man of stone with a heart of gold because one thing for sure? He’s a broken monster, and I don’t just mean his horn.
