Detective Emerson Moore, on maternity leave and caring for her newborn daughter, feels like life has finally settled into place. After her husband is offered his dream job as deputy chief in the town he grew up in, he convinces Emerson that it’s the perfect place to start their family. They move from the city, buying the home of their dreams in the suburbs.
But when her husband dies in a tragic car accident soon after their arrival, Emerson is devastated and forced to reevaluate her life. She must find work again and decides to join the local force while she contemplates if she will eventually sell the house.
