It was a struggle for Baldwin Tavares and the Resistance to beat all the odds that were against them—from defeating the Roaches that swarmed the city to getting the power back up. The Enemy’s battle with the Spiders reached Earth’s solar system with terrible consequences for Earth’s population. But defeat the odds they did, and after returning power to the city, they got on their shuttles and helped the Enemy drive the Spiders away.
However, now Win and his allies have another big task in front of them. They must talk to the Enemy, the ally who helped them develop the vaccine for the shifter “infection” but also abandoned them when their battle with the Spiders started going badly. And Win knows his priorities: securing Earth’s future, and making sure the shifters have a chance to earn their freedom as well!
But Win doesn’t actually have a lot of information on the Enemy’s goal in this war and how much they care or not about the species to which Win thinks he owes everything. With the Spiders plotting payback and bound to attack them at any moment, he will have to decide what sacrifice a victory is worth.
