Wagon Train – Oregon Trail
1850s
Sophie Linden left her farm in New York for a chance to see this grand new country. As the last unmarried daughter of the Linden’s, she was in grave danger of ending up the spinster of Conlin County. She also yearns to see Oregon. Captain Farneswell had told everyone about the place as if it was a piece of heaven.
Peter Fleming is anxious to go west to Oregon and start a new life. He is leaving his old life in Missouri and all the memories behind. The only problem is he needs a wife according to the charter set by the wagon master, Captain Farneswell.
After a brief correspondence with Sophie Linden, everything is set, and he’s to pick her up in St. Joseph for the trek west. The first he lays eyes on her, Peter is head over heels in love with Sophie.
Sophie isn’t sure and tells him he needs to prove he loves her before she’ll marry him, but Captain Farneswell is adamant they get married before the wagons pull out. Peter is ecstatic. Sophie is angry.
They come to an agreement. They’ll marry but split the wagon and live separate lives until Peter can win her heart.
Two young people on an adventure across the continent and a wagon train eager to have them fall in love equals a fun journey west. Will Sophie and Peter find love before they reach Oregon?
