A decade ago, a tragedy befell me and Avery. A tragedy no couple should ever have to face. I wanted to face it together, but she ran.
Now, she’s back for her father’s funeral, and I’ve been made President of the Singleton Chapter of the RBMC. She’s just as beautiful as I remember, but she holds me responsible for everything that happened between us.
