Midsummer Love

Artise Chase was the daughter of wealthy parents who owned most of the little California village of Serra. She was also one of the activist demonstrators at the Berkeley campus of the University of California. She was, as her father's housekeeper said, headstrong and spoiled and used to wrapping men around her little finger.
