NOTE from the Department of National Records Preservation (DNRP) (By a FOIA [Freedom of Information Act]Request) filed on September 22, 2040: This copy of the document known as ‘Black Friday, Invasion’ is the seventh notebook written by Israel Tabs, also known as the Elder it is released only for historical purposes and is not to be released to any foreign entity.
One group that is written about in this notebook are veterans of the Global War on Terror (GWOT) and even the seniors who served in Vietnam. The veterans working with the survivors took care of the mobs and gangs that terrorized the survivors’ camps, subdivisions, and farms. Together with armed civilians, they formed the new American Army and Marines. They knew they would be fighting gangs and people used to taking what they wanted. They fought and usually won, but they never thought they’d have to fight an invading army to save America. America hadn’t been invaded since the War of 1812.
The seventh notebook records the unexpected invasion by the ‘Hispanic countries of Central and South America. The invasion was led by the President of Argentina, Petri, who succeeded the assassinated Milei, who was a fan of America. Petri had been Milei’s Minister of Defense. He organized Milei’s death and blamed the Americans. He feared the American survivors would cross the border and be a drag on the Central and South American economies. He told his staff they were about to be on the receiving end of what he called ‘Cross Immigration.’ The war saw the first use of nuclear weapons since Black Friday. Petri planned to invade America in three locations. He knew the Americans were unorganized, and most of America’s military were killed in the war. He expected to be welcomed as a savior. He didn’t count on the Americans not welcoming any unwelcome quests.
The Department doesn’t want to tell you too much about the invasion, less ruining the story. We can say that had it not been for people like General Greenwald, Ways, Colonel (Marine Gunny Sergeant), and the Elder, this notebook might have been in Spanish.
This is the seventh notebook in the series discovered in August 2037, when the Army’s First Response team arrived in the author’s neighborhood to restore power and running water and take a census of the survivors. The Army was surprised that the community had restored electricity and running water to its members.
The notebooks were sealed in what was called Zip-Lock plastic bags to preserve them. The author wrote most of the journals in first person, and the Department of National Records Preservation has decided to leave them as they were written. Some misspellings may be due to how English was spoken and written before and shortly after the war.
This notebook was initially titled ‘The End of the Beginning.’ Partway through the notebook, the Elder changed it to ‘Invasion.’ It will become clear why he changed the title as you read the continuation of his story.
The Department warns the reader that this seventh notebook is very raw and may not be suitable for young children or those with weak stomachs. This was one of the darkest times in our history. We have to remember that in the darkest times, the sun will shine.
Here, without any edits, is what the Elder wrote in his seventh notebook. The Department hopes you learn from the mistakes, good and bad decisions made by the people in this notebook and learn something from how the Elder fought to shine a light on the darkness of the invading army.
