A novel by

There's something strange happening in Dustin, even stranger than the fact that Dustin is set under a huge dome. The town is supposed to be a community for the future, but the students are growing uneasy. Three zealots are elected to run the town's schools and suddenly everything falls under their moral scrutiny. Sweethearts Gabe and Dori conspire to find out what is happening and how to prevent the new regime's moral compass from controlling everyone.

From Children's Book Review Service:
Dustin was an antiquated town, but with the addition of a glass domelike structure the town is transformed into a city of the future. Sixteen year old Gabe and his girlfriend Dori question the ideals that are now being taught in the high school. Goofbang Value Daze is an amusing futuristic novel that examines changing values.

From VOYA:
Thompson has written another interesting story about two teenagers with different styles of life at home and who are not understood by society. This is done in his unpredictable but realistic style. SF fans will enjoy the domed community. The letters to the editor that Gabe writes are also full of humor.
