Shepherd

Shep Catlett, 17, is the kind of boy you want to bring home to your parents: smart, good looking, respectful, and honest. He and his best friend, Tara, have been platonic buddies their whole lives. Mary Sutherland is just a freshman and looks like she could have been Julia Roberts's younger sister, or so Shep thinks as he quickly develops a crush on Mary. Inspired by song lyrics from his favorite band, Shep is convinced that he is destined to save Mary's life, literally or figuratively, from the older and "faster" crowd she runs with. Shep begins a crazy relationship with Mary while lying to his parents and Tara, and all at great risk to him both physically and emotionally.
