Battling the Crooked has been Koda’s task ever since he answered the call of his ancestor’s goddess. Battling the twisted creatures was one of the very first things he did upon arriving in this world, and for it he has earned the thanks of his goddess, respect of a tribe to call his own, and the loving devotion of his mates.

Up until recently, it had only been raiding groups that he had confronted, led by champions and commanders that he could potentially surmount.

Now, though, Koda is faced with a whole new challenge: an army of Crooked many times larger than any he’s seen yet. And while there are others in this battle—an army sent by the baron who holds sway over Silverstone Village, his home—they may not be as helpful as he might hope.

The one group he trusts with the baron’s forces, a company of dwarves led by a champion aligned with Chandra Wildheart—the goddess of the dwarves and a sister in all but blood to his own goddess—has warned Koda to be careful with who he trusts.

With more enemies coming up from the south, and people who are only vaguely allies to the north, Koda needs to find ways to level the playing field. The beastfolk live in these plains, and they need to protect their land.

From all comers.
