Death Is One Shot Away
(2026)(A book in the Tales of the Old West series)
An omnibus of novels by Paul L Thompson
In the wild silver boomtown of Leadville, Colorado, two no-good brothers snatch pretty young Shelly Bishop for a $100,000 ransom. They’ve got her hidden in a remote mountain shack and think they’re home free — until U.S. Marshal Shorty Thompson rides into town the same night.
Shorty’s already hunting the back-shooting killers who’ve murdered three sheriffs in cold blood. Now he’s got a kidnapped girl, a carpetbag full of ransom money, and a pair of greedy outlaws who just made the worst mistake of their lives.
With his big dun stud Dunnie and a lightning-fast .45, Shorty delivers justice the only way he knows how — one shot at a time.
This action-packed collection includes five complete Shorty Thompson adventures:
She’s Worth A Big Ransom
He Has To Be Dead
Almost The Fastest Gun
The Fifth Man
Mister You Was Shot In The Head
Fast horses. Hot lead. Old-fashioned Western payback.
Another hard-riding, straight-shooting volume in the Shorty Thompson series.
Death is one shot away… and Shorty Thompson never misses.
Genre: Western
