You Ain't Worth Killin'

(2022)
(Book 109 in the Tales of the Old West series)
A novel by

U.S. Marshal Shorty Thompson had to take a prisoner all the way from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Abilene, Texas. Big Curtis Moffett was a killer among killers. He killed just for the hell of it. When Sheriff Gus Daskalas of Albuquerque caught up with him in the Liberty Bar and Cafe, he knew this man was wanted in Texas for killing a whole family.

He got in touch with Marshal Thompson to escort him to Abilene. When that was done and Shorty was ready to head home, he was told no train could run for at least a week or maybe two.

“Sorry, Marshal, a flash flood wiped out two bridges. It’ll take time rebuilding them. Men are on it now.”
“Then me an’ Dunnie will just head on out. We know where home is. I ain’t gonna sit on my butt that long.”
