Launched from Luna to hunt down the forces of the Zvezdari, an ancient starfaring civilization of exiles from Earth that have been interdicting interstellar space, claiming hundreds of systems as part of their trading empire, Commander Mercer and his crew uncovered a shadowy conspiracy that reached between both governments, a conspiracy to force Earth and the Zvezdari to war, a war that would reduce both powers to ruin.
Trying to find a place to hide on the frontier, they discover that the conspiracy reaches further than they feared, leaving a trail of devastated planets in its wake.
