Jess is on the hunt for Alan Bush, which takes him to the town of Frost, Texas. After killing Bush, he shoots another wanted man who happens to show up in Frost before Jess leaves.
When he takes the bodies to the town of Burnham to turn in to the marshal there, he discovers that the marshal is out looking for a prisoner who escaped from his jail.
Marshall Dan Lester convinces Jess to track down his escaped prisoner for him. After successfully tracking down the prisoner, Jess is back on the hunt for more killers who are on his list.
Then he receives a message from United States Marshal Frank Reedy in Stratton, Texas, informing him of news he never wanted to hear.
The one ruthless killer that Jess let go because he’d lost all memory of his previous life has regained his memory and returned to his old killing ways.
Jess is not willing to make that mistake again. An old friend comes to help him rectify the situation.
