I'm bubbly and cute, filled with light and love. I have to be. Fat and dark-skinned. In a place where body-shaming and colorism run rampant, my brand of beauty is deemed unacceptable. My light makes me more palatable. And keeps me somewhat visible in my own country that would rather not acknowledge my existence.
