CATHERINE RHONA UREN Catherine loses her family and home in a London fire. Penniless and alone she seeks refuge with an unknown distant cousin in the far west of Cornwall, where she is given a home but realises that she is adding to the family s burdens. Life there is fraught with difficulties and tragedies for herself and other people. She falls hopelessly in love with her employer s son, the Hon.
